BEE
POLLEN
Bee pollen is often called the only
perfectly complete food. Pollen is collected by bees and fed to the young
bees as a high protein food. Each tiny granule contains protein, minerals
and vitamins necessary for our growth and perfect health. The major
components of bee pollen are protein, amino acids, lipids (fats and oils)
and sugars. Minor components are flavanoids, vitamins and minerals such as
calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sulphur and sodium.
Reported effects and benefits derived from
bee pollen include; improved athletic performance, digestive assimilation,
improved appetite, sexual performance,
skin vitality,
boosted immune system and general vitality
Bee
pollen has also been reported to cure cancer in animals, colds, acne, male
sterility, prostate problems, anaemia, high blood pressure, nervous and
endocrine disorder and ulcers.
Bee pollen can cause severe allergic
reaction in some people so as a precaution it should initially be taken in
small quantities. Any reaction may occur in a short period of time, from a
few minutes to a few hours.
